Jungju Lee is one of the brilliant pianists and piano pedagogue in the southeastern United States as well as the pianist of Atlanta Choir and Hanmi Philharmonic Chorus. She received the Master of Music degree in piano performance at Georgia State University in the studio of Sergio Gallo. A native of South Korea, Jungju holds a master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy from Ehwa Womans University in Seoul, Korea. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Seoul Theological University in Seoul.
Jungju worked professionally as a pianist and as an instructor teaching functional piano skills at Hanseo University in Korea. She has participated in several Masterclasses with Dina Yoffe, winner of the Schumann and the Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Kevin Kenner, winner of the International Piano Competition in Warsaw, the International Terrance Judd Award in London and the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow, and so forth.
The past summer, Jungju was invited to The Paris International Summer Sessions and VIII International Piano Course in Valdemossa (Catedra Chopin) with scholarship from the Chopin Society of Atlanta. After the tour of Paris in France and Valdemossa in Spain, she was also invited to the Chopin Piano Gala Concert in the Chopin Society of Atlanta, and after her performance, she received excellent reviews from critics and audiences. Besides, A winner of the Brumby Concerto Competition, she performed Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No.1, Op.25 with GSU Symphony Orchestra last fall. Recently, she performed Beethoven Piano Concerto No.3 Op. 37 with GSU Symphony Orchestra and Vivaldi’s the Four Seasons with String Chamber Orchestra.
