Sprite Crawford began her musical studies at the age of three in a church choir in Miami, Fl. At the age of eight she began studying the viola in the Dade County Public Schools. After attending, New World School of the Arts, Ms. Crawford received a BM in viola performance from Florida International University. She also received two MM from Kent State University in viola performance and orchestral conducting. While at KSU, Ms. Crawford was a member of the Graduate String Quartet program, mentored by the Miami String Quartet. Ms. Crawford’s orchestral career has included positions in the Canton Symphony, the Florida Grand Opera Orchestra, and the Miami Symphony.
Sprite began her conducting career at the age of eighteen and has always had a passion for conducting Youth Orchestras. She has conducted youth orchestras around the USA; including the Canton Youth Symphony and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony as well as Guest Conducting many Youth Orchestras. Ms. Crawford and her family moved to Atlanta, Ga in the fall of 2015. Currently Sprite is a member of the Savannah Philharmonic, Hilton Head Island Symphony Orchestra, and the Chamber Cartel. Ms. Crawford also has an extensive discography including music from Classical to Modern genres.
