Mengyao Su : Piano

Mengyao Sun started playing piano at the age of four. She won the third place at the “Liu Shi Kun” Young Artist Piano Competition in Hong Kong at the age of ten, and was accepted to study in Music School of Tianjin with Professor Alexander Sokolov when she was twelve.

When she was eighteen, she was accept to study at the Rimsky-Korsakov conservatory in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and studied under Professor Shakin Olegevich. Won first place at the International Young Musician Piano Competition in Bulgaria in 2009. Won the second place at the International Piano Competition of Kabalevsky in Moscow in 2010. While studying in Russia, she performed with the Orchestra of Saint Petersburg.

She was selected in the International Prokofiev Piano Competition in 2011 and graduated with her Master’s Degree from Rimsky-Korsakov in 2012. In 2013, she was recommended by Professor Shakin to study in the Mannes College for Music in NYC with Professor Irina Morozova.

She received her Artist Diploma from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University in 2016. Mengyao Sun also performs and teaches at UNG, and WPMA.
