David Chong - Violin
David Chong began his violin studies at age 11. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in violin performance from Georgia State University, where he served as concertmaster. He is an active private teacher, and freelance musician in the Atlanta area.
He is associate concertmaster of the New Atlanta Philharmonic, and Principal Second Violin of the Ludwig Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Rome Symphony, LeGrange Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Albany Symphony, and Valdosta Symphony. David performs regularly as a soloist with New Atlanta Philharmonic.
At Georgia State University, David was a finalist in the Thomas M. Brumby concerto competition, and also was selected to perform at the Georgia State University honors recital. David has participated in master classes with distinguished teachers such as Bing Li, David Kim, and Max Zorin.
