He studied under such guitar greats as Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, Shawn Lane, Vinny Moore, and Jimmy Herring. He also studied in master classes with Robin Ford, Jason Becker, Andy Timmons, Scott Henderson, Steve Morse, and many other great players. Throughout his time at AIM he also taught classical classes (1,2,3, and 4), Reading (1,2,3, and 4), Rock 3, Notation, Rock Performance, and Jazz Performance. His curriculum rivals and even exceeds the books and curricula available from some of the great guitar programs in the country. These books have been called the "complete Bible for guitar". They provide a method for the guitarist to obtain a clear view of the neck of the guitar that is no more complicated than it needs to be. They are comprehensive and error free.

An honor graduate student of Atlanta Institute of Music, David has been a life long resident of Atlanta. His musical talent spans the spectrum of rock, jazz, blues, and classical. His contemporary instrumentals have gained air play on radio stations throughout the southeast.
