Adrienne Steely began cello at age eight with her local Suzuki program in Waco, Texas. She continued her studies and earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Cello Performance and a Master’s of Music in Composition from Baylor University. Her primary cello teacher was Dr. Gary Hardie, and she received additional training under Johannes Moser, Benjamin Karp, Jonathan Spitz, David Premo, Desmond Hoebig, Anne Martindale-Williams, and Bryan Dumm. She has attended notable festivals such as Credo Chamber Music and the Brevard Music Festival Institute.
Adrienne is a certified Suzuki teacher. Her Suzuki training began first as a Suzuki student of Heather Hardie, and she later received teacher training from pedagogues Alice Vierra and Shu-Yi Scott.
In the field of composition, Adrienne has had her compositions performed by the Baylor Symphony, Boston New Music Initiative, and the Atlanta Contemporary Music Collective.
Today, Adrienne is an active freelancer in the Atlanta area, and is a founding member of the Atlanta Contemporary Music Collective. She plays on a contemporary cello by Gary Garavaglia.
Adrienne calls Duluth, Georgia her home along with husband David Sayers and their dog Coda.
