Ann Wood received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of South Carolina, studying violin with Dr. John Bauer and viola with Fritz DeJonge. She also studied the Suzuki Violin Method and teaching techniques at William Jewell College for five years. She has been certified for Music Education in Violin and Piano in South Carolina and North Carolina and holds a K-12 Teaching Certificate for Instrumental Music in Missouri. She has been a public school music teacher for Orchestra, Band, and Music Theory and has taught private lessons throughout her music career. She began studying violin at age 11 in school orchestra with additional instruction at Indiana University and Butler University.
Ann enjoys performing in the arts community. She currently plays violin in the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Orchestra, and International Music Festival. She has been a violinist with the Columbia Philharmonic Orchestra, Greenville Symphony Orchestra, Queen City Community Orchestra, Liberty Symphony Orchestra, and DeSalo Solisti Chamber Orchestra. She has also served as music director for the Gallatin Theater League, Chillicothe Community Choir, and Dawn Baptist Church choir.
