Dr. Justin Stanley

Clarinet

Justin Stanley has performed across the United States at venues including the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Symphony Center, Cleveland’s Severance Hall, and Detroit’s Orchestra Hall. He has performed at festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, the Sarasota Music Festival, The Banff Centre, and the Hot Springs Music Festival. 

Before moving to Atlanta, Dr. Stanley taught in the New York City metropolitan area at Sacred Heart University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Music Conservatory of Westchester, where he also served as Associate Dean of Students and Faculty. 

His students have won concerto competitions, earned top honors in the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program's nationwide assessments (including a Tri-State Certificate of Excellence and selection to perform in the honors recital at Carnegie Hall), and have been accepted to prestigious college and pre-college music programs including the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, The Juilliard School, Yale University, the Manhattan School of Music, Amherst College, and Bard College. 

In addition, his students have won statewide honors at solo and ensemble festivals and have been accepted to all-state ensembles. Justin earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in clarinet performance at the University of Michigan, a Master of Music at Yale University and a Bachelor of Music in performance and education from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. 

His principal teachers include David Shifrin, Daniel Gilbert, Richard Hawkins and Fred Ormand.
