Born in Jeju, South Korea, Eunji Yoon picked up her first cello at age 10. Her journey in music began in Seoul, Korea at Kaywon High School of Arts , led to undergraduate studies in Manchester, UK at the Royal Northern College of Music, and achieved a Masters in Cello Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. She studied under many notable cellists including Karine Georgian, Leonard Elschenbroich, and Alan Harris.
Eunji has achieved notable success in several competitions such as the Brahms Competition, Classical Music Magazine’s competition, and the Strad competition.
While serving as a teacher’s assistant at the Eastman School of Music, Eunji taught cello to a variety of students who minored in Cello Performance.
Eunji has served as a substitute cellist for the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra, in Erie, PA.
Eunji has also generously volunteered her time and skills to various nonprofit organizations including Milal, ROC Music Hochstein, and TW12.
Today, Eunji calls Atlanta, GA her home with her husband and three adorable daughters. Eunji showcases her talent on a remarkable cello crafted in 1925 by Johann Georg Meisel, a renowned violin maker from Klingenthal, Germany.
